Pest Control Lead Generation
Every service on this site is a component. This page is about how they assemble into a system that produces booked jobs at a cost you can defend, and stops you buying leads three competitors bought too.
Four Stages, and Most Companies Only Work One
Capture. Create. Convert. Follow up. Nearly every pest control company we talk to is doing some version of stage two, badly, while ignoring the other three.
Capture is getting in front of people who are searching right now. Map pack, organic rankings, Local Services Ads, search ads. These people have the highest intent and the shortest path to a booking. This is where the first dollar should always go.
Create is generating demand from people who were not actively looking. Meta ads, neighborhood targeting, seasonal campaigns, direct mail to route-dense areas. More expensive per lead, but it is how you fill the season and grow recurring plans.
Convert is what happens once they arrive. Site speed, quote flow, click-to-call, trust signals, offer clarity. This stage is nearly free to improve and it multiplies the return on everything upstream. It is also the stage almost universally neglected, because it is not a channel anyone sells you.
Follow up is speed to lead, nurture sequences, missed-call text-back, and reactivation. Most companies lose more revenue here than anywhere else, and it is the cheapest place to recover it.
A system that does all four beats a company spending twice as much on ads alone. Every time.
What a Complete Lead Generation System Includes
Measurement spine
Call tracking with dynamic number insertion, conversion tracking, and CRM integration, installed before any spend. Every lead attributed to a source and followed to booked or lost.
Owned capture channels
Google Business Profile, map pack, organic rankings, and your own site. The assets that keep producing after the invoice stops.
Paid capture channels
Local Services Ads and search, running on the high-intent terms where waiting for SEO would cost you a year of jobs.
Demand creation
Meta campaigns for recurring plans and seasonal services, targeted around your existing route density so incremental jobs cost almost nothing to service.
Conversion layer
Fast site, multiple contact paths, service-specific landing pages, and an offer that makes the next step obvious.
Follow-up automation
60-second speed to lead, missed-call text-back, quote nurture, and reactivation campaigns against your lapsed list.
Owned Leads vs Purchased Leads, Honestly
Purchased leads have one real advantage: they work immediately. That is not nothing when you have trucks sitting idle. But you pay per lead forever, the same lead is often sold to competitors, you cannot control quality, and you build no asset. Owned channels take months and then produce at declining marginal cost indefinitely. The right move for most companies is not to quit buying leads tomorrow. It is to build the owned side while you buy, then taper.
The Only Four Numbers That Matter
Most pest control companies cannot answer these. The ones that can make dramatically better decisions than the ones that cannot.
- Cost per lead by channel. Not blended. By channel. Blended cost per lead hides the fact that one channel is producing $22 leads and another is producing $180 leads.
- Lead-to-booked-job rate by channel. This is where most surprises live. The channel with the cheapest leads frequently has the worst close rate, and the expensive channel is often the profitable one. Without this number, cost per lead is actively misleading.
- Cost per booked job by channel. Numbers one and two combined. This is the number that should drive every budget decision you make, and almost nobody tracks it.
- Lifetime value by service type. A quarterly plan customer and a one-time bed bug job have completely different values. If you spend the same to acquire both, you are underspending on one and overspending on the other.
Everything we build starts by making these four numbers visible, usually within the first two weeks. It is not glamorous work and it routinely changes where a company spends its money more than any campaign we launch afterward.
